The board - the management of our association
The executive committee is elected for 3 years (last 2021) by the general assembly. The President and the Vice President are supported by actually 4 additional board members:
President
Lennart Schleicher, who has been a member of the VNU Board since 2006, was elected as the new VNU President at the VNU General Assembly in March 2018. He represents the interests of the VNU in Article 49 Committee / EMAS Committee and is active in the German EMAS Advisory Board as head of the working group EMAS Revision. Together with Peter Fischer, Helmar Pflock and Dr. Heinz Herzog, he is in charge of the EMAS Club Europe and heads the Southeast Regional Group.
Vice President
Bettina Heimer has been a member of the VNU Board since 2001 and took over as Vice President in 2004. She is the treasurer, supervises and coordinates the majority of VNU events with the VNU office and represents the VNU, for example in the German EMAS Advisory Board. She is also the coordinator for the Energy Management department and, along with with Dr. Markus Berger (Universität of Twente, NL), she heads the Water Risk department.
Member of the VNU Board
Jakob Flechtner has been known to the VNU for many years through his involvement in the Environmental Verification Committee. Since 09/2021 he ist head of the "Corporate Network Climate Protection - an IHK Platform" at DIHK Service GmbH. At the 2022 general meeting, he spontaneously made himself available for work on the board and was directly elected. At the VNU, he supports the climate protection department and manages social media announcements (e.g. on LinkedIn and XING).

Veit Moosmayer has been a personal member of VNU since 2015 and was elected member of the board at the Annual General Assembly in November 2020. He is Deputy General Manager of the „Karlsruher Energie- und Klimaschutzagentur gGmbH (KEK)“ and is in charge of EMAS Club Southwest
Member of the VNU Board
Helmar Pflock, a VNU member since 2011, was elected to the board in the same year. He supports the office in the preparation of the newsletter and VNU communication as well as the internal work of the association.

Martina Prox has been a member of the VNU Board since March 2018. She represents VNU's interests in the liaison partnership with the ISO/TC207/SC1 committee, which develops and updates environmental management standards.

Anna-Katharina Zubrod has been a member of the VNU since 2017 and was elected to the VNU Board at the generalaAssembly in March 2019. She is a research associate at the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz (HTWG), is in charge of the young professionals at VNU and accompanies the publications of VNU e.V. in the German professional journal UmweltMagazin.
