What's the point?
Economically speaking, saving energy has been a topic since quite a while. However, in order to achieve the climate protection targets, the German government is determined to make further extensive efforts in the area of energy efficiency. But how can companies meaningfully address this challenge without time-consuming and expensive detours? How can an energy management be set up efficiently in addition to the many other tasks that have to be performed "en passant" today?
Today, there is sufficient experience from the introduction of energy management systems (EnMS) according to ISO 50001 and other efficiency systems to reliably answer these questions.
VNU's stance
Above all, systematic energy management according to ISO 50001 has developed into an effective method of reducing specific energy consumption and thus energy costs over the last years. In Germany, for example, energy efficiency is becoming a key economic success factor under the motto "Efficiency First".
With further standards published in the 50000 series, the topic of measurement and verification of performance improvement becomes significantly more relevant for users of ISO 50001 in the medium term.
The department and the cooperation of the members in the VNU are intended to bring the requirements / concepts of the standards to life, thus ensure their practical implementation and increase energy efficiency in companies.
