Trends and tools for sustainable corporate development
Trends and tools for sustainable business development, a well-known motto under which we are pleased to announce our next Environment and Sustainability Manager Day (UNT) for March 9, 2021. Due to ongoing contact and travel restrictions, this event will be held as a virtual (ZOOM meeting).

After welcome (IHK Frankfurt am Main and VNU Board), we have included a wide variety of topics in our programme. We hope that this selection will please you and look forward to your participation.
13.15 h
Our first topic concerns the quite controversial Supply Chain Act. We will first present the key points of the planned regulation. This will be followed by a moderated discussion with two experts on the advantages and disadvantages.
Moderation:
Anna Zubrod (Konstanz Institute for Corporate Governance KICG, VNU Board)
Lennart Schleicher (EVEX Umweltberatung, VNU Board)
Participants:
Cornelia Heydenreich (Team Leader Corporate Responsibility at Germanwatch e. V.)
Joachim Jütte-Overmeyer (lawyer for companies in the textile industry, e.g. KIK)
14:15 h
Another focus will be on the lessons learned from Corona year. In three parallel workshops, we will discuss the following questions, among others:
a) How will the (economic) key figures for 2020 be interpreted?
Impulse / Moderation: Frank Meckel (EMAS Verifier)
b) What impact will production stops, fragile supply chains and distance-working have on business models and their resilience?
Impulse / Moderation: Dr. Stefan Bräker (Müller BBM-Cert GmbH)
c) How will our direct working environment change, for example with home office, remote audits and digitalisation?
Impulse / Moderation: Jörg Roggensack (DQS GmbH)

Every project needs funding to be implemented. Conversely, the purposes and sustainability of financing are increasingly being questioned. Expert bodies in the EU and in Germany are working on developing a sustainable finance taxonomy to measure and evaluate these aspects.
Beate Hollweg (Federal Environment Agency, EEA European Energy Acengy)
16:30 h
Between contact constraints and incidence, climate change has fallen a little into the background. However, the challenge still exists and climate neutrality does not just happen, it has to be worked for. Many organisations have gained experience and achieved success. We present practical examples to inspire you to follow and participate:
Dr. Peter Kehl (ArcelorMittal Hamburg GmbH)
Friederike Behr (Environmental and Sustainability Officer of the LANUV)
